What is RamBox?
If you have seen Ram truck commercials, read billboards, or looked through feature lists, then you may have heard of RamBox, but you may still be wondering what is RamBox. How does RamBox work?
A RamBox equipped Ram truck has wider side rails in the bed to accommodate an amazingly convenient storage system. In most trucks, the space between the bed wall and the outside fender just goes to waste, but by extending it only a little bit, a ram truck can take advantage of all that space in a unique way.
With RamBox the tops of those side rails fold up to reveal ample storage for anything and everything. For example you can stow all your tools, and the RamBox locks so you don’t have to worry about putting dirty tools in your clean cab while you are on the go.
Speaking of dirty, the RamBox is fully drainable. This means when you want to get the grime out, just open it up, empty it out, and hose it off. This also means you can load it with ice to make it the perfect tailgating companion.

Does RamBox come standard on Ram trucks for 2017?
RamBox is not a standard feature on any Ram truck, and that’s by design. Ram realized that RamBox may not appeal to everyone so they didn’t want to force it on any particular trim. Instead, they include it as an available option on every trim for Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and Ram 3500.
Ram Box is available with every cab including Regular Cab, Quad Cab, Crew Cab, and Mega Cab, and you can find it on both 6’4” boxes and 5’7” boxes. The RamBox cargo management system is not available on the 8’ box however.
